I am suggesting Shotcut as an alternative because it has a pretty small footprint, and is continually being updated, and has a very helpful user forum (the reddit is pretty helpful, too). It is completely free (although in the Microsoft store it is something like USD $12, so avoid downloading it there).ĭaVinci Resolve is brilliant, but one of the few 'features' missing from the free version (which is 97% like the paid version) is the ability to export/render to H.265 and H.264, which are the common amateur video codecs, so that is a real disadvantage. If you do not want to use Camtasia because of the price, have a look at Shotcut.
